1. First click new or new in the virtual box, then fill in your name with your wishes, for type select Linux, and for the version that matches the os that you want to install, here I use ubuntu which is 64 bit version, if you want to use 32 bit please select the 32 bit then click next
2. After that, fill in the RAM that
you want to use to run the Ubuntu operating system server, remember to fill the
RAM, don't get to the red limit because later it can burden the original OS,
select it in the green area, here I use 512 RAM, then click next
5. Furthermore, on the
storage on select physical hard disk, it is allocated dynamically and then
enter
6. Next to the location and size, select the location where the virtual machine will be stored, and for the size adjust to your needs, here I use 8 GB then enter
7. After all, we have the storage settings, look for where the Ubuntu OS server will be installed, after
finishing setup click ok
8. Ok now we just start, click start
9. After that in the select English language display. if you want to better understand it, choose Indonesia
14. On the keyboard pattern select English (US) as well then enter
15. Next to the host name, fill it as you like, because it is used on the local name, it can be free if it
is connected to the internet or network, the name can never be free, then enter to proceed to the next process.
16. In the full name of the new user fill in the name that you like, here I give the name tria,
then enter
17. Next to the name for the account fill in the name you like, here I give the name tria, then enter
19. After that, enter the password again for verification, then enter
21. On the home directory encryption, select and then enter
22. At the time setting, adjust to your location, here I choose Jakarta, then enter
23. On partitioning my hard disk I chose guided - use enter disk because I only use 8 GB so that it is easy and fast, you can also set it manually, the most important thing is there is a root and swap partition, press enter
24. In selecting the hard disk to be partitioned select SCSI3 then enter
25. When writing the changes to the hard disk, select it, then enter it, the installation will start, which will take 15 minutes
26. Next management on the system select no updates automatically then enter
27. Next on the selection of software to be installed, select it according to your needs, here I choose the openSSH server, press enter to proceed to the next process
28. In the installation of the GRUB boot loader select yes then enter
29. Finally, when the installation is complete, select Continue to eject the CD-ROM, then it will restart automatically
30. Next will appear as below, which looks black and white, to login fill in the account and password that was created earlier, for example like below !!!!
So first tutorial from me, sorry if there are incorrect words or typos,
the tutorial above can be used to install on a PC or real leptop.
